Hickory Hill Park Warbler Walk 29 April

A beautiful morning in the park. We are still waiting for the warblers but a day like today sure makes one glad to be alive. Broad-winged Hawks were scattered throughout the park.
Today's list includes, Double-crested Cormorant (Flock of 20), Canada Geese, Wood Duck, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Broad-winged Hawk (at least 8 sitting in various parts of the park), Yellow Bellied Sapsucker, Northern Flicker, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, White Breasted Nuthatch, Eastern Phoebe, Blue Jay, American Crow, Barn Swallow, Tufted Titmouse, Black-capped Chickadee, House Wren, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Hermit Thrush, Brown Thrasher, American Robin, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Eastern Towhee, American Goldfinch, Northern Cardinal, Red-winged Blackbird, Brown-headed Cowbird, House Finch, White Throated Sparrow, Chipping Sparrow, Field Sparrow, and Song Sparrow.
There are no ICBC walks the next two days. The Iowa City Bird Club's Warbler Walks resume in Hickory Hill Park, Iowa City on Monday at 6:30 a.m. Meet at the north parking lot at the end of Conklin Lane, off Dodge Street.
