N/A
May. 3, 2011 3:17 pm
The Iowa City Bird Club's Warbler Walk for today in Hickory Hill Park started off frosty.
Among the interesting birds we saw were Great Crested Flycatcher, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Gray Catbird, Nashville Warbler, Yellow Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, and Black-and-White Warbler.
Our walks continue for the next couple of weeks, weekdays only, leaving the North [Conklin Lane --- near the Hy-Vee on North Dodge] entrance to Hickory Hill Park in Iowa City. Walks start at 6:30, rain or shine, or frost]. The leaders are usually present for an hour +, depending on the birds. All are welcome. Warblers are among North America's prettiest birds. Pictures on many of them can be found at Warbler Photos.
