PAWS in the Park

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control is asking the public to save the date and plan to participate in the first annual PAWS in the Park fun run/walk. It will take place Saturday, September 24
th
, 2011, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Noelridge Park near the swimming pool parking lot.
There are many great prizes!
Pet contests judged by our own local City celebrities, Chief Graham and his wife, Amy, and Councilwoman, Monica Vernon, Fly Ball and Agility demonstrations, plus loads of exhibits, pet food and supply vendors, pet information booths, food vendors and more!
KHAK radio personality “Brain” of the Brain and Steele Show will be the emcee of the event.
There are several different ways you can participate:
· Walk/run alone
· Walk/run with a pet
· Walk/run with a friend
· Walk/run with your family
· Walk/run as a group or team
· Walk/run any way you want and then enter your pet in the pet contests to win big prizes!
· Collect pledges from friends, colleagues, family, co-workers. The person collecting the most $$$ over $500 in pledges receives a $200 prize!!!
Registration brochures and pledge sheets are available through the CRACC, at local veterinary clinics and online at www.pawsintheparkcr.com. The registration fee is $25 for the walk/run and $5 for each pet contest. The registration/brochure and pledge sheet are attached to this release.
All registrants receive a packet of goodies, a PAWS in the Park T-shirt, and a doggie bandana.
All proceeds to benefit the Cedar Rapids Animal Care & Control Spay/Neuter Fund.
