I.C.’s Connell wins Western Championship title

SPOKANE, Wash. - Aaliyah O'Connell of Iowa Gym-Nest won the all-around competition at the 2015 Level 9 Western Championships last weekend.
O'Connell, a senior at Iowa City West, also placed second in the beam and third in the vault and floor exercise in Session 8.
Allyson Steffensmeier from Twisters also had a great weekend, placing second in the all-around in Session 3 and third on the beam, floor exercise and vault.
18 FROM MOSERS WIN TUMBLING TITLES
WEBSTER CITY - Eighteen members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won titles recently at the USTA Power Tumbling meet here.
Jacob Gasper, Josephine Briggs, Emma Marting, Makayla Gasper, Cooper Ingles, Hannabelle Erickson, Paige Kremer, Emmy Troester, Maya Burkhart, Claire Jaeger, Brody Bevans, Shania Rasmussen, Megan Pierschbacher, Claire Cahalan, Tucker Erickson, Taeryn Chrystal, Taylor Kitner and Aidynn Burkhart all were crowned champions.
Kaya Knipper placed second, along with Jana Hunt, Jessie Glanz, Ella Maeting, Madison Habel, Annie Gulick, Hanna Marting, Chloe Bennett, Becca Farmer, Katelin Ante, Alivia Sweeney, Journey Even, Logan Bevans, Alexandra Esmann, Alaina Mead, Kylie Belinsky and Jason Recker. Third-place finishers were Brooke Lucas, Meliah Eiben, Jersey Even, Lily Schmitz, Iasabel Lutgen, Madelyn Schmitz, Avery Sweeney, Daniel Clayberg, Carson Ingles, Alexandra McElmeel, Lainey Knipper, Brooklyn Ante, Kennedi Bevans, Emma Fisher, Addyson Sweeney, Katelyn Trimble and Emma Bockenstedt.
SWISHERS' JOHNSTON WINS JUNIOR TITLE
KOHLER. Wis. - Ian Johnston, 13, from Swisher won the age 12-14 division at the FCWT Junior Golf Tournament at Whistling Straights Golf Course earlier this month.
Johnston shot a final round 77 to win by four strokes.
