City to observe Thanksgiving on November 24 & 25

The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25, 2011. Most City offices will be closed on that day. The following City services will continue to operate:

• Cedar Rapids Public Library – The downtown location will be closed both days. The Westdale Mall location will be open on November 25 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• CR Transit – No buses running on November 24; No peak buses on November 25
• Golf – Twin Pines Golf Course will be open on November 25 and over the weekend, weather permitting
• Fire Department – Responding to emergencies
• Joint Communications Center – Responding to emergencies
• Police Department – Responding to emergencies
• Solid Waste & Recycling – Garbage, yard waste and recycling will not be collected on November 24. Instead, Thursday collection will take place on Friday and Friday collection will take place on Saturday.
• Water & Water Pollution Control
