One day, you're a kid in Cedar Rapids playing high school soccer and golf. The next, you're standing with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Speaker of the House John Boehner.
OK, it's been about 20 years since Zach Johnson was a kid in Cedar Rapids. But you get the idea.
Tuesday, members of the 2013 Presidents Cup golf teams were honored at the White House by the aforementioned elected officials. The U.S. team, with Johnson one of the 12 members, defeated the International team for the fifth-straight time.
Today, several of the golfers who were at the ceremony went back to practicing for this week's Quicken Loans National tourney in nearby Bethesda, Md. (Johnson isn't playing that tourney.)
Also today, CNN reported that a spokesman for Boehner confirmed that the speaker is considering bringing a lawsuit against the President for a misuse of executive authority.
But for a little while at the White House Tuesday, it was all smiles, compliments, playful banter and golf talk.
