Linn-Mar third, trailing leader Waukee by 6 after day one of boys’ state golf
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Linn-Mar boys' golf team shot a collective score of 309 to sit in third place after the first day of the state golf tournament at Elmcrest Country Club.
Cedar Rapids Washington (319) and Cedar Rapids Xavier (326) are currently sixth place and 10th place, respectively.
Waukee is at the top of the board with a score of 303, with West Des Moines Dowling close behind at 307.
Waukee's Andrew O'Brien is atop the indiviudal standings with an opening round of 70. Linn-Mar's Max Thrune (74) and Jake Sevcik (75), Xavier's Luke Winker (77), Iowa City West's J.D. Goodfellow (77) and Washington's Frank Lindwall (77) and Connor Neighbors (78) remain in contention among Metro players.
