Cedar Rapids Kernels fans may not be able to take the field with their favorite team, but they have the chance to tee it up and hit the links with their hometown ballclub.
The Kernels will host their annual Kernels Foundation Golf Outing on August 16 at Gardner Golf Course in Cedar Rapids. The annual event is a 4-person scramble with an 11 a.m. shotgun start.
Entry fee is $95 per golfer or $350 per foursome, which includes 18-holes of golf, golf cart, catered meal and prizes. In addition, each foursome will be paired with a Kernels player or coach during the event.
Proceeds from the event directly benefit The Kernels Foundation, which works to ensure all youth in Eastern Iowa have the opportunity to experience the life-lessons that come from taking part in sports and recreational activities.
Interested golfers can pick up a flier at Veterans Memorial Stadium, print one off at www.Kernels.com, or call the Kernels office at (319) 363-3887.
