Golf benefit set for former local professional Tim Doherty

A fundraiser for former Iowa City-area golf professional Tim Doherty will be held July 8 at Saddleback Ridge Golf Course in Solon.
Doherty suffered a massive brain aneurysm on Aug. 17, 2009. He served as golf pro at Saddleback, Finkbine and the Elks Club for more than 20 years. His health has improved but he still has short-term memory issues.
The "Tee Up For Tim" fundraiser is a 4-person best shot scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost is $75 per play and includes lunch.
