Strategies 101: Helping families cope with bullying

CEDAR RAPIDS -- The Cedar Rapids City Council PTA will host Part 2 of a follow-up series to the Bullying Forum presented last spring.

This event will be held on Feb. 6, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the Viola Gibson Room at Viola Gibson Elementary School.

This forum, titled Strategies 101: Helping Families Cope with Bullying, will focus on strategies to manage bullying behaviors. The presentation will be followed by a short question and answer session where generalized bullying issues will be addressed.

Scheduled presenters include Tracey Adamowski from Iowa PIRC (Parent Information Resource Center) and Cedar Rapids School District Students will provide real-life scenarios regarding instances of bullying.

Bullying is an issue that crosses all boundaries and the Cedar Rapids City Council PTA hopes to provide parents and students with the resources necessary to prevent and correct bullying situations. Students and families are encouraged to attend together.
