More parking spaces now available during city council meetings

Park Cedar Rapids has adjusted the timing of some on-street permit only parking spaces in order to provide adequate and convenient parking for those attending the Cedar Rapids City Council meetings.

City Council meeting attendees and the general public can now park in spaces that were previously reserved for permit parkers only. The newly adjusted permit only time will now be posted as 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. instead of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to allow visiting parkers to use the convenient spaces located along 1st Street SE and along the 2nd Avenue SE bridge.

Parking patrons are asked to continue observing all posted signs and to pay the meter if parking in a metered area to avoid citation. Both the traditional coin operated and new LUKE multi-space meters operate between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
