AMANA - The characters of the fictional town of Bomont, Nebraska, are making plans to help those from the real town of Beaumont, Texas, as well as others impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Friday, Sept. 8, has been designated 'Hurricane Relief Night” at the Old Creamery Theatre in Amana, which is presenting the show 'Footloose.”
For every ticket purchased for the 7:30 p.m. performance now through showtime, the theater plans to donate $5 to the American Cross to help assist with the hurricane relief efforts.
'Footloose” opens Sept. 7 and runs through Oct. 1 with shows at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
According to a news release, pulling together during tough times is something the characters in the fictional town of Bomont learn to do in Footloose, so the cast and crew would like to do their part to support those affected by the very real hurricane that hit so many towns, including Beaumont, Texas.
The cast includes Christopher Bernard, Keegan Christopher, Katie Colletta, Ben Cramer, Kristen Behrendt DeGrazia, Seth Hunter, Steven Labine, Alexia Lorch, Jackie McCall, Carrie SaLoutos, Maggie Saunders, Nikki Savitt, Clark Skaggs, Ross Wheeler, Caroline Grace Williams and Jim Vogt.
Tickets are $31 for adults and $19.50 for students, with a $12 special student rush rate for students purchasing their tickets 30 minutes before the performance begins.
For more information or to purchase tickets, call the box office at (319) 622-6262 or go to oldcreamery.com.
