LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes in the inaugural Heroes Game, 20-7, in Lincoln.
Iowa's offense never got off the ground against the Blackshirts, failing to reach the endzone until the closing minutes of the game.
The loss dropped the Hawkeyes to 7-5 overall and 4-4 in Big Ten play.
Michigan State had locked up the Legends division title the previous week with a 55-3 stomping of Indiana.
The bowl schedule will be announced on Dec. 4.
