Suspected burglary at Cedar Rapids school may have just been vandalism

A suspected burglary at Truman Elementary School Sunday afternoon may have just been an act of vandalism, Cedar Rapids police say.

Police received a call of a burglary in progress at the school on West Post Road Sunday afternoon. Officers said when they arrived, they found a broken window and believed the suspect was still inside the building.

Officers were on scene for a couple of hours searching the building, but did not end up find anyone.

Police now think someone may have just broken a window and never actually entered the building.
