By Joyce Hutchins: I was arriving at Coe College for New Horizons' Band practice. Everyone seemed to be buzzing with the news that something very bad had just happened.
Although we didn't know just how bad, we knew it was something big. We were kept informed by Coe music personnel.
Later we were told there would be a gathering on the campus, which I attended. It was a very quiet and somber crowd with young and old coming together and then leaving in silence.
I felt numb.
