University of Iowa President Sally Mason on Wednesday will present to state regents the findings of a UI investigation into what caused the illness of 13 UI football players in January.
The root cause analysis was led by Mason, after the regents gave a 90-day deadline for a report on the incident. The state Board of Regents meets Wednesday at Iowa State University in Ames.
Mason's report was added to the regents meeting agenda this morning. It's the last item on the agenda before the board goes into closed session to evaluate the university presidents and institution heads.
The 13 football players were hospitalized in January with rhabdomyolysis, a breakdown of muscle fibers that can lead to kidney damage.
