The Iowa City school district spent more than $106,000 on its redistricting consultant, RSP and Associates.
That figure, which the district provided Friday, includes consulting fees, extra meetings (the redistricting committee met more times than originally planned) and reimbursable items, which were mostly maps.
The exact number, if you're curious, was $106,082.59.
The district hired the Olathe, Kan.-based RSP and Associates at the start of the school year. At the time, Superintendent Lane Plugge said the basic work would cost $80,800 for enrollment and boundary analysis, and possibly about $20,000 more in add-ons.
The school board is expected to vote on a redistricting plan soon.
