Omaha school district restarting superintendent search

The Omaha school board must decide how to find a new superintendent after its top choice resigned over the disclosure of some racy emails.
The school board meets Monday night to discuss its options after accepting the resignation of former Des Moines Superintendent Nancy Sebring over the weekend.
The board picked Sebring in April out of three finalists to replace John Mackiel in Omaha. Mackiel plans to retire this summer after leading the Omaha district for 15 years.
Sebring had been scheduled to start in Omaha in July. But that plan unraveled after she resigned suddenly from her Des Moines job on May 10.
Sebring and Des Moines officials now say that she resigned because she exchanged sexually explicit emails with a lover using the district's computers.
