Fact check: Iowans' personal incomes have grown since 2011

Economic improvement was a major theme of Gov. Terry Branstad's 2014 Condition of the State address. In the speech, he claimed that Iowans' personal incomes are growing.

Iowans' total personal income grew by nearly 10 percent from the first quarter of 2011 to the last quarter of 2013, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Part of the reason for this growth is the strong farm sector, which has experienced record prices for farmland.

Conclusion

It is certainly true that Iowans' incomes have grown since Branstad was inaugurated. His language of 'are growing' is a little harder to pin down, but we'll cross our fingers.
