CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids school district's ongoing enrollment study will be discussed at tonight's school board meeting.
Rob Schwarz from RSP & Associates of Overland Park, Kan., is scheduled to give a presentation on enrollment and boundaries.
RSP & Associates was awarded a contract in November to provide services for the enrollment study. According to the contract timeline, RSP will complete an enrollment analysis report, a facility planning and analysis report and a demographic analysis during this school year.
The firm was hired for $148,000.
The school district is conducting two studies - one focuses on enrollment and the other on facilities - this school year, with results expected to be presented to the board sometime in the summer. The two studies will eventually be combined, and the start of the 2011-12 school year will launch the public engagement process.
Superintendent Dave Benson has said the 2012-13 school year is the earliest that any changes would be implemented.
Tonight's school board meeting begins at 5 p.m. It will be held in room 305 at the Educational Service Center @ Kingston.
