CEDAR RAPIDS - Coe College was without water for several hours today as a city crew worked on College Drive on campus.
The water main break was fixed by early afternoon and water was restored to campus, spokesman Rod Pritchard said.
Coe students do not return from break until next week, so the work was only a temporary inconvenience to staff, Pritchard said.
“It was a pretty short-term minor thing,” he said.
Due to the water main break, officials also shut off water for a short period to the temporary steam generator that provides campus heat, Pritchard said.
