CEDAR RAPIDS - Reggie Greenwood's basket at the buzzer was ruled no good last night at Eby Fieldhouse, letting Coe escape with a 75-74 victory in men's basket ball.
Greenwood launched a shot at the horn that was initially ruled good. But after conferring, officials ruled that the ball was still in his hands as the clock ticked to 0:00. Coe won its season opener, and Cornell dropped to 1-1.
The Kohawks upped their advantage in the all-sports Bremner Cup competition between the schools to 5-3.
Max Schmarzo led Coe with 18 points. Nick Bobb scored 22 for Cornell, and Greenwood added 21.
The game featured 10 times - including 39-39 at halftime - and 10 lead changes
