Iowa River Landing heads for mid-2012 opening
The Iowa River Landing project is expected to open next summer, the City Council heard this week.
If enough deals with retailers have been made, Paul Buss of Oliver McMillan LLC said, construction will begin late this summer and the development will open in summer 2012.
Projects with finalized deals include a University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics medical building, a yet-to-be-named department store and a Homewood Suites hotel.
Buss said the complex still needs an entertainment element, and developers are hoping to attract a combined restaurant/bowling facility.
