The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival's popular Balloon Glow event has been canceled for 2018 due to rainy conditions.
A previously-scheduled rain date of Thursday is also canceled, as more rain is expected.
The Balloon Glow traditionally takes place on the grounds of the historic Brucemore estate. Hot air balloons are inflated, but do not rise into the air, allowing festivalgoers to observe them up close.
2018 marks the Freedom Festival's 35th year, with schedule highlights including concerts, parades and patriotic events. For official festival information, visit freedomfestival.com
