A crew tasked with removing snow inside Kinnick Stadium today has had some fun with the task.
A gigantic hand with hashtag #FTK (For the Kids) inside the palm has been shoveled in the snow blanketing Kinnick Stadium.
The hand, which spans the entire width of the field, is positioned toward the UI Stead Family Children's Hospital.
This is an homage to 'The Wave” tradition that started last football season. Fans in attendance would turn toward the hospital and wave to the children and families watching from the upper floors during the break between the first and second quarters.
A 'wave' is drawn in the snow on the field and is visible to patients inside the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital in an aerial photograph at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018. The snow drawing paid tribute to the Kinnick Wave tradition started last season and the University of Iowa Dance Marathon. (Stephen Mally/The Gazette)
