Semifinal sweep for Coe
CEDAR RAPIDS -- Coe swept past Loras in an Iowa Conference volleyball tournament semifinal Thursday night at Eby Fieldhouse to set up another showdown with Wartburg for the conference championship Saturday night at 7 in Waverly.
The conference tournament winner receives the league's automatic bid to the Division III NCAA tournament.
Coe, which lost last week at Wartburg to give the Knights the regular season conference title, won Thursday night's matches, 25-13, 25-8, 25-18.
Coe was ranked 23rd in D-III before losing to the Knights last week. Now both teams are in the "receiving votes" category.
