CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Thursday's Midwest Collegiate Conference doubleheader between Waldorf and Mount Mercy will be broadcast locally by KCRG Local 9.2, the first-ever live broadcast of Mustang baseball.
First pitch will be at 2:00 p.m. at Ken Charipar Field at Xavier High School. Mount Mercy, which traveled to Clinton for a doubleheader against Ashford this afternoon, is 7-9 overall and 1-2 in conference play. League-leading Waldorf comes in at 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the MCC.
Game one will be broadcast live on KCRG 9.2, while game two will be shown on tape delay Thursday night. John Rogers, long-time radio voice of the Cedar Rapids Kernels single A baseball club, and Kent Stock, the legendary baseball coach at Norway High School during their final season, will call the action.
KCRG 9.2, the home of live, local sports coverage, is available free over the air or via cable throughout eastern Iowa, including on Mediacom channel 109 and ImOn channel 709. Tomorrow's broadcast of Mount Mercy baseball will be the first local college sporting event covered by KCRG 9.2. Live coverage of local sports on KCRG 9.2 began in February during the prep basketball season.
