Wet weather washes out Mount Mercy baseball, softball today

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Wet weather has claimed a pair of Mount Mercy events today. The Midwest Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader against St. Ambrose and the MCC baseball game versus Iowa Wesleyan have been washed out.

The softball doubleheader with St. Ambrose may be played later this week, but the baseball game against Iowa Wesleyan will not be rescheduled. The Mustang softball team (19-21, 9-9 MCC) travels to La Crosse, Wis., tomorrow to take on Viterbo (Wis.) (16-14, 10-8 MCC) at 3:00 p.m. The two teams are vying for the fourth seed in the MCC Tournament, which opens this weekend. The Mount Mercy baseball squad (19-18, 11-11 MCC) will be in action again on Thursday when they head to Oskaloosa to face William Penn (22-22, 6-17 MCC) in a single, nine-inning game at 5:00 p.m.
