[Baseball] Weber caps career with MCC honor

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Mustang senior right-hander Derrick Weber, a two-time Midwest Collegiate Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week this spring, was named honorable mention all-conference, the league announced this week.

Weber led Mount Mercy in wins for the third year in a row, finishing 7-4 with a 4.04 earned run average. The Waterloo native logged 78 innings, striking out 45 and walking 35 while allowing 73 hits. He threw seven complete games and had one save.

Weber, a first-team all-MCC and NAIA honorable mention all-American as a sophomore, finished his career in the top 10 in six categories for the Mustangs. He ranks second in school history in appearances (57) and fourth in starts (43), wins (23), innings pitched (252) and strikeouts (164). Weber, 23-10 with Mount Mercy, is also sixth on the all-time chart with 14 complete games.
