Mount Mercy (12-11, 6-3 MCC) was just 6-of-28 (21.4%) from the field in the first half and trailed, 41-19, at intermission. The Mustangs improved to 38 percent shooting after the break, but it wasn't enough to overcome Jorgensen and the Vikings (9-13, 5-4 MCC). She played the entire ball game and finished with 37 points and 13 rebounds.
Junior guards Micha Mims, Ashley Koch, and Emily Greiner led the way for Mount Mercy. Mims tallied 23 points and three steals. Koch had 13 points, four rebounds, and six steals, while Greiner ended up with 12 points and four steals. Freshman forward Amanda Frost had a team-high six boards.
Amy Vos and Danielle Ballard had 14 points apiece in support of Jorgensen. Ballard also grabbed eight rebounds and Vos contributed six boards and three assists.
Mount Mercy closes out the week with a pair of home games, starting with Clarke (7-15, 3-6 MCC) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Hennessey Recreation Center. The Mustangs host William Penn (17-6, 8-1 MCC) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Mount Mercy beat Clarke, 68-53, and fell at William Penn, 74-66 in overtime, the first time around this season.
