Wartburg men's tennis takes Illinois trip

It's the second weekend of the 2011 spring season for Wartburg College. The Knights, coming off a split in their opener last weekend, face Augustana College of Rock Island, Ill., and St. Ambrose University of Davenport Saturday, Feb. 12, in Moline, Ill.
Dual times are 11 a.m. against the Vikings and 3 p.m. against the Fighting Bees.
KNIGHTS NOTES: Junior Chris Buckingham of Waverly led the way in the spring opener. He recorded straight-set singles wins against Concordia University of Wisconsin and St. Norbert. … Singles play overall helped lead the 5-4 win over Concordia. Coach Matt Tyler's team claimed four of six victories from the Falcons. … Wartburg's 8-1 loss to SNC could have been much different. Senior Aaron Masterson of Lindsborg, Kansas, dropped a 14-12 superbreak at No. 5, and sophomore Blayne Willadsen of New Hampton had a wild superbreak as well, falling 13-11 at No. 6. … The Knights' home and Iowa Conference opener is Friday, Feb. 18. Wartburg hosts Loras and Cornell inside Hoover Fieldhouse.
