[Men's Cross Country] Mustangs get back-to-back MCC titles

DUBUQUE, Iowa -- The Mount Mercy men dominated the 2011 Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships, claiming five of the top 10 runners en route to their second straight league title on Saturday at the Dubuque Soccer Complex.
Senior Mike Miroux became a four-time all-conference performer, finishing third in the 8K race with a time of 27:48. He was joined on the all-conference team by teammates Patrick Kipkorir and TJ Mosbach. Kipkorir, a sophomore, placed fourth in 27:49, while Mosbach ended up fifth in 27:51.
Mount Mercy senior Keith Terry, sophomore Mitch Johnson and junior Bryant Rader were honorable mention all-conference. Terry placed eighth in 28:06, Johnson ninth with a time of 28:12 and Rader 13th in 28:40. Freshman Tyler Hartley also competed for the Mustangs, finishing 24th in 29:38.
Mount Mercy cruised to the team championship with 29 points. Runner-up St. Ambrose had 69 points, followed by Ashford (75), Grand View (96), Viterbo (Wis.) (119), William Penn (145) and Clarke (178). Kevin Randle of St. Ambrose was Harrier of the Year with the fastest time of the day (27:20).
The 56th Annual NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships are Saturday, Nov. 19, at 10:30 a.m. local time at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Wash.
