Rams fall at home to Peacocks

Cornell fell behind early and couldn't recover in a 5-0 men's soccer loss Saturday afternoon at home to Upper Iowa.
The Peacocks made the most of their 11 shot attempts, striking twice in the opening 17 minutes. Upper Iowa led 3-0 at halftime and added the final two markers early in the second half.
Cornell (0-4) had scoring opportunities early, firing six of its seven shots in the first half. Junior Alex Beehler and sophomore Casey Gilbert both attempted two shots for the Rams.
Sophomore Jordan Setser went the distance at keeper. He finished with three saves, all in the first stanza.
Setser leads the Iowa Conference with 29 saves (7.25 spg) on the year.
Coming up - Cornell opens a three-match stretch Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. kickoff against Clarke in Dubuque. The Rams host Waldorf at 3 p.m. Saturday, and then are back on the road Sunday to face Monmouth (Ill.) at 1 p.m.
