[Women's Cross Country] Women’s squad makes history at Great Lakes Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Mount Mercy women's cross country squad posted the best team times in school history en route to a 17th-place finish in a tough field of teams at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational.
The Mustangs were led once again by sophomore Anne Bruno, who placed 42nd out of 337 runners with a time of 19:19. There were three more Mustangs who ran sub-20 times, including senior Kara Danielsen (54th/19:30), junior Taylor Helms (69th/19:47) and sophomore Mackenzie Holladay (93rd/19:58).
Sophomore Stephanie Nibaur finished 103rd in 20:09, senior Britney Yotter 144th in 20:39, sophomore Wendi Dunn 152nd in 20:47, freshman Katerina Althoff 155th in 20:49, senior Keely Danielsen 165th in 20:55, junior Shelby Daisy 18th in 21:13 and junior Leah Schultz 304th in 23:42.
Mount Mercy will race for its fifth league title in six years at the 2011 Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dubuque Soccer Complex in Dubuque.
