WBB: Iowa schedule is complete

IOWA CITY -- The University of Iowa women's basketball schedule for 2013-14 is complete.

Iowa's Big Ten schedule was released Tuesday. The Hawkeyes (21-13 last season) open their league slate Jan. 2 at Indiana, then come home for their Big Ten opener Jan. 5 against defending champion Penn State.

The Hawkeyes will play five league teams twice (Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State) and the other six once. Iowa hosts Michigan State, Nebraska and Northwestern, and travels to Wisconsin, Purdue and Michigan.

The season begins with an exhibition game at home Nov. 3 against Concordia-St. Paul, then the regular season opens with the Hawkeye Challenge Nov. 8-10 (against UC Riverside and Dayton).

Home games will be against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Stony Brook, Syracuse, Idaho State, Drake and North Dakota.

The Hawkeyes will hit the road against Colorado, Northern Iowa and Iowa State. They'll also play in the Cancun Challenge Nov. 28-30, against USC, Boston College and UNC-Wilmington.

The Hawkeyes were an at-large selection for the NCAA Tournament, reaching the second round.
