Hayes doubles up for Coe women in rout of Cornell

Megan Hayes put up a double-double and teammates Kayla Waskow and Mary Halvorson joined her in double-figure scoring Wednesday night in Coe's 76-57 Iowa Conference victory over Cornell at Eby Fieldhouse in Cedar Rapids.
Hayes scored 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Kohawks (16-7, 10-4). Waskow and Halvorson added 10 points apiece.
Rikki Mulloy scored 22 points for Cornell (8-12, 6-7), which trailed 30-20 at halftime. Teammate Chelsea Harris scored 11 points, and Taylor Dicus grabbed nine rebounds.
MOUNT MERCY 92, ST. AMBROSE 88 (OT) - Annie Smith of St. Ambrose sent the game to overtime with a 3-pointer as time expired, but 13th-ranked Mount Mercy controlled the extra period in Cedar Rapids.
The Mustangs, 12-3 in league play, are 20-7 overall and reached 20 wins for the third time in the last four seasons.
Mount Mercy had five players reach double figures in scoring: Becca Lampe 17, Emily Greiner 16, Micha Mims and Amanda Frost 15, and Laura Lippert 14.
Lauren Cash scored 21 points for St. Ambrose (10-14, 6-9).
IOWA STATE 65, MISSOURI 52 - Once sitting at 9-7 overall and 0-5 in the Big 12, Iowa State improved to 14-8 and 5-6 with the league victory at Columbia, Mo.
Lauren Mansfield scored a season-high 21 points for the Cyclones and pulled down eight rebounds. Mansfield hit 5 of 8 3-point shots.
Chelsea Poppens achieved a low-key double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Iowa State, which led 39-22 at halftime.
Iowa State shot just 38.8 percent and committed 17 turnovers but out-rebounded Missouri, 44-33, and held Missouri to 32.8-percent shooting.
