Fourth-ranked Upper Iowa ready for postseason

The fourth-ranked Upper Iowa wrestling team will begin the postseason in an NCAA Division II Super regional meet hosted by St. Cloud State (Minn.) on Sunday. The Peacocks will compete in the 12-team field that will advance the top four at each weight to the NCAA D-II Championships Mar. 9-10 in Pueblo, Colo.

The NCAA Super Regional III...The NCAA Super Regional III will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26, and feature ten wrestlers from each of the eight NSIC teams, as well as ten wrestlers from Indianapolis, Maryville, Newman and Wisconsin-Parkside.
Of the 120 wrestlers competing, only 40 (four per weight class) will qualify to represent their institutions at the NCAA Division II Championships in Pueblo, Colo. on March 9-10.
Matches will start at 10 a.m. and conclude with the finals at each weight beginning at 7:30 p.m. The third and fourth place matches will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the door… Adult tickets are $10, while children (ages 2-17) are $5.
Sunday's Schedule…
9 a.m. - Doors Open
10 a.m. - First Round
11:30 a.m. - Quarterfinals (including some first-round wrestle backs)
1:30 p.m. - Second round of wrestle backs
3:30 p.m. - Semifinals and third round of wrestle backs
5:00 p.m.- Semifinals of wrestle backs
6:00 p.m. - Third place and fifth place matches
7:30 p.m. - Finals and True fourth place matches (if necessary)
*Middle round times are approximate. Breaks will not be taken between rounds.
Peacocks in the Polls... Upper Iowa is currently ranked #4 in the latest NWCA Top 20 Poll, that was released on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Five individuals are also ranked in the top 8 in the nation. The ranked Peacocks are Kyle Pedretti (125, #2), Trevor Franklin (133, #1), Wade Gobin (174, #6), Carl Broghammer (197, #4), and Zach Rosol (285, #5).
