Logic honored by Big Ten for 3rd straight week

IOWA CITY – University of Iowa guard Samantha Logic has been named co-Big Ten Player and Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her performance in Iowa's two wins last week. This is the third-straight week Logic has earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. She has also been named co-Big Ten Player of the Week in two of the last three weeks.
Logic averaged a double-double and recorded the fourth triple-double in school history last week. Her triple-double against Michigan was the first ever by an Iowa freshman and just the 10
th
in NCAA Division I women's basketball this season.
The Racine, Wis., native averaged 15 points, 11.5 rebounds and eight assists in Iowa's wins over Northwestern and Michigan. She collected 13 points, 13 rebounds and a career-high 11 assists, while only committing one turnover in 38 minutes of play, against the Wolverines.
Logic started the week with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in Iowa's road win at Northwestern. She was 8-of-10 from the free throw line, including 5-of-6 in the final minute of the game to ice the win.
Logic has now recorded double-doubles in four-straight games and has six on the season.
Logic and the Hawkeyes return to action Friday in Indianapolis at the 2012 Big Ten Tournament. Iowa is the No. 3 seed and will face the winner of No. 6 Nebraska vs. No. 11 Northwestern at 1 p.m. (CT) live on BTN.
