It didn't take long for Bre Cera to find a new home.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's basketball coach Kyle Rechlicz announced Friday that Cera has signed to play with Milwaukee. Cera was released from her scholarship at Iowa on Tuesday.
Cera started 18 games as a freshman at Iowa last season, averaging 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest. She will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the 2017-18 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
She is a native of nearby Mukwonago, Wis.
'We have taken a huge leap this week in signing a local star, Bre Cera, to Milwaukee,' Rechlicz said in a statement. 'When I first arrived here five years ago, she was the player I wanted in Panther black and gold. Fortunately, things have come full circle and we, as a staff, are going to get the opportunity to build her into the player she has dreamed of becoming.'
