Iowans in Minor League Baseball: Korry Howell promoted to Midwest League

Here is a list of former local and area preps and former University of Iowa players who are in affiliated professional baseball. All statistics mentioned are through Friday:
JAKE ADAMS (University of Iowa): First baseman is hitting .275 in 25 games for the high-Class A Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Astros), with four home runs and 20 RBIs. Has season average drop from a high of .333 just a week ago.
NICK ALLGEYER (Iowa): Five shutout innings in his last start for the lefty, who's on a roll with high-A Dunedin (Blue Jays). Is 3-1 with a microscopic 1.01 earned run average in five starts for the Blue Jays. Has allowed just a single run in his last four starts, with an incredible season WHIP of 0.75 (18 hits and two walks in 26.2 innings).
JOEL BOOKER (Iowa): Outfielder got the promotion to Triple-A Charlotte (White Sox) last week, where he is 3 for his first 22 (.136) in six games. Earned his move up by hitting .351 in 20 games for Double-A Birmingham.
C.J. ELDRED (Mount Vernon/Iowa): Pitcher has rebounded with three shutout innings over his last two appearances for low-A Lexington (Royals). Has no record and a 5.63 ERA in five relief outings this season.
NICK GALLAGHER (Iowa City West/Iowa): Right-hander has gotten starts in his last three outings for high-A Lynchburg (Indians). Is 1-0 with a 3.28 ERA in six overall appearances, including a save. Has allowed just 11 hits in 22.2 innings and has 29 strikeouts.
KORRY HOWELL (Kirkwood Community College): The fleet-footed infielder was promoted last week out of Milwaukee Brewers extended spring training to low-A Wisconsin. Has a hit in both of his games played thus far and is 2-for-7 with a pair of RBIs overall.
MITCH KELLER (Cedar Rapids Xavier): Overcame a rough first inning to win his start earlier this week for Triple-A Indianapolis (Pirates). Also contributed a double at the plate. Has 3-0 record and a 3.48 ERA in six starts for the Indians, with 38 strikeouts in 31 innings.
MASON MCCOY (Iowa): A pair of four-hit games last week for the shortstop, as he continues to waylay pitchers at high-A Frederick (Orioles). Has his batting average up to .384 in 26 games, with two homers and 17 RBIs.
ROBERT NEUSTROM (Iowa): Outfielder at low-A Delmarva (Orioles) has had back-to-back two-hit games to move his batting average up to .329 in 19 games. Has three homers, 14 RBIs and an even walk-strikeout rate (12 each).
TYLER PEYTON (Iowa): Righty reliever continues to struggle at high-A Myrtle Beach (Cubs), where he has a 6.60 ERA in eight outings. Does have 16 strikeouts in 15 innings.
COLIN REA (Cascade): Right-hander doing solid work for Triple-A Iowa (Cubs), where he's 3-0 with a 3.25 ERA in five starts. That includes throwing five innings of one-hit shutout ball in his last start.
NICK ROSCETTI (Iowa): Infielder assigned back to high-A Carolina (Brewers) last week. Has played in six games for the Mudcats, for whom he is 3-for-19 (.158) at the plate.
SCOTT SCHEBLER (Cedar Rapids Prairie): Cincinnati Reds outfielder will start losing playing time with the promotion this week of big prospect Nick Senzel. Struggling mightily at the plate with a .123 batting average in 30 games, with two homers and seven RBIs. Is second on the team with 14 walks.
