Valerie Louise Henson, 67, of Hiawatha, passed away on Friday, following a long illness. As per the family's wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge
of arrangements.
Valerie spent 35 years caring for others as a
nursing assistant; enjoyed sewing, crafts, decorating, baking, working in her yard and attending auctions and sales with her friends.
Valerie is survived by her son and daughter, Jeffrey and Tina Parent; her grandchildren, Braxton and Brittany Parent, (all of Hiawatha); her aunt, Linda Rotter of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
A very special thank-you to Kendra, Amanda and the Hospice of Mercy staff for their loving care of Valerie.
