IOWA SUPREME COURT COMING TO TOLEDO

Mar. 18, 2014 3:16 pm
The Iowa Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that the justices will hear oral arguments in Toledo on April 9. Next month's proceeding will take place in the Wieting Theatre, 101 South Church Street. The session is open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. The court will hear attorneys argue in two cases: one dealing with a man who was charged -- after a hunting trip in Iowa -- with being a felon in possession of a firearm based on a deferred judgment he received from the state of Wisconsin, and another case dealing with an out-of-state postnuptial agreement that denied a widow the right to take an elective share of her deceased husband's trust as provided in Iowa Code.
