Every year the Iowa Department of Public Health compiles a statistical profile that tracks vital records such as the state's population count, the number of births and deaths and other demographic information.
Preliminary data is released in a condensed, at-a-glance format with more specific data provided later after more complete collection and a detailed analysis of information within a historical context.
