Branstad campaign releases another TV ad

Jun. 1, 2010 9:13 am
The Governor Branstad 2010 campaign has released its latest television ad, “They're the Reason.”
The ad, which begins airing today, will run statewide. It can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/governorbranstad2010
The script for the ad, narrated by former Gov. Branstad, is as follows:
It's good people, stuck out of work, because of the mess our state's in.
It's teachers who'll be laid off.
And our seniors and folks unemployed, now facing huge property tax hikes.
They are the reason I'm running for governor. We know Iowa can do better. We've solved greater problems. We've faced greater challenges. But our current governor either can't – or won't – fix it.
I will.
We've turned our state around before, and we can do it again. I would appreciate your vote."
Gov. Chet Culver's campaign fired back, saying another Branstad administration is their worst nightmare.
"Terry Branstad may try to say that he's running to help Iowans, but it's a political ploy," said Culver/Judge Campaign Manager Donn Stanley."The reality is that for unemployed Iowans, for educators, another Terry Branstad administration isn't going to help them in any way. Terry Branstad isn't going to fight for the people who need their governor the most.
