GOP names Tama woman to communications post

Apr. 27, 2009 2:05 pm
Danielle Plogmann of Tama has been named communications director of the Republican Party of Iowa.
A former news producer at KCRG-TV 9 in Cedar Rapids, Plogmann will help implement the party's aggressive plan for communicating Iowa Republicans' principled solutions to Iowa voters, said Jeffrey Boeyink, GOP executive director.
“We are continuing to build the most professional and potent political organization in the state," he said, and Plogmann "will allow us to aggressively communicate the GOP's relevant solutions of fiscal responsibility and pro-family policies to Iowans."
With Plogmann's appointment, both state parties have Eastern Iowans leading thier communications efforts. Norm Sterzenbach, who grew up in Cedar Rapids, is the communications director for the Iowa Democratic Party.
Plogmann is a native of Toledo and received a double major in journalism and political science from the University of Iowa. She received additional education at Georgetown University in economics and public policy before spending nearly six years as a news and web producer at KCRG-TV.
She and her husband, Marty Hardon, reside in Tama.
