CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Department of Human Services will hold a public meeting March 3 in Cedar Rapids to discuss the state's plan to hire managed care providers to administer Medicaid.
Medicaid recipients and others are encouraged to attend the meeting from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kirkwood Community College's Ballrooms B and C, 7725 Kirkwood Blvd. SW. To listen by phone, call (866) 685-1580 and use participant code 542.870.0217.
The DHS put out a request for proposals Feb. 16 seeking companies to administer Medicaid, a federal and state program that helps with medical costs for some low-income Americans. State officials say the Medicaid Modernization plan would improve the coordination of care, quality and access, while saving money through efficiencies.
The Cedar Rapids meeting is one of four being held across the state in March. Other locations are Des Moines, March 6; Davenport, March 9; and Council Bluffs, March 16.
Stakeholders and the public should email questions and comments to: MedicaidModernization@dhs.state.ia.us.
Access the request for proposals and learn more about the initiative at https://dhs.iowa.gov/ime/about/initiatives/MedicaidModernization.
