CORALVILLE -- Cancer knows no time.
That's why cancer fighters will walk around the clock in the battle against this disease on June 15th during the 2012 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Johnson County at the University of Iowa Cretzmeyer Track.
Johnson County Relay For Life committee members will hold the KickOff Rally at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Coralville Public Library. Anyone interested in joining Relay and the fight against cancer is encouraged to attend this informational meeting.
Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. At Relay, every person in Johnson County is invited to celebrate the lives of those who have had cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against this deadly disease.
"Many of our participants are cancer surivivors, which serves as a reminder that Johnson County is not immune to this disease," said Jaime Moquin, Relay For Life of Johnson County Chairperson. "We are joining the American Cancer Society's efforts to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Funds raised enable the American Cancer Society to impact lives of those touched by cancer within our community."
No matter why you take part in Relay, with every step you take, you are working to create a world where cancer will no longer threaten the lives of our loved ones or claim another year of anyone's life.
