Mercy Medical Center has long been recognized as a leader in cancer care for patients and families throughout Eastern Iowa and beyond. And soon, Mercy will have a world-class cancer center to complement that legacy. That's why Mercy and its online solutions provider, Geonetric, are excited to announce the launch of the new Hall-Perrine Cancer Center website. The site, at http://www.hallperrinecancercenter.org, is resource-rich and showcases the healthcare providers, programs, services, research studies and technology that are all part of Mercy's next chapter in cancer care.
“As the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center nears completion we are pleased to offer our community an additional online resource to find out more about it,” said Dr. Martin Wiesenfeld, medical director of Mercy's Hall-Perrine Cancer Center. “The Center will offer multi-disciplinary clinics, comprehensive services and the collaborative efforts of some of the area's finest cancer specialists. I see this new website as a tool to help our community become more familiar with the scope of the services available to them – all in a single, supportive healing environment, close to home.”
The site is a one-stop resource for anyone looking to learn more about the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center. Site visitors will be offered a preview of what they can expect once the facility opens in the spring of 2012 – from the patient-centered infusion stations to the healing gardens and meditation spaces. The site offers resources for people who are newly diagnosed and those currently undergoing treatment. Plus, cancer survivors and family members will have access to information on support groups and wellness services. Family physicians and surgeons can also find information on patient referrals, clinical trials and other cutting-edge research.
The new website offers user-friendly navigation and enhanced functionality, including a calendar of events allowing site users to search and register online for sessions such as “Cancer and the Caregiver.” A searchable provider directory featuring photos and other information provide an introduction to Mercy's medical and radiation oncologists and other cancer experts, allowing visitors to become familiar with care providers even before they step into the state-of-the-art facility.
In addition, site visitors can request information about the center and its services through an online request form, test their knowledge about cancer risk factors through interactive quizzes, and get useful information on diagnostic exams and screenings.
“With the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, Mercy is setting a new standard in our community for what constitutes personalized, coordinated care,” said Eric Engelmann, president and CEO of Geonetric. “We're excited to help them create a Web presence that tells that story and provides an easy and effective way for our community to learn more about this remarkable center.”
