Coralville bridge over I-80 to reopen soon

CORALVILLE – The 12
th
Avenue bridge over Interstate 80 in Coralville is tentatively scheduled to reopen July 2.
The bridge, which has been closed since June 10, was supposed to reopen June 26. But the Iowa Department of Transportation found additional repairs were needed after work started, according to a city of Coralville news release.
Construction crews are patching the bridge deck and retrofitting the barrier rails. A 30-day break is needed to let the concrete strengthen, and then the bridge is to be closed July 29-Aug. 2 to finish the job.
