Did you know more than 20 million people in the United States suffer from depression in a given year?
Mark Meier, a national speaker on depression, is bicycling across the U.S. to educate and raise awareness of depression, specifically in men.
You can attend a free educational seminar featuring Mark Meier on Saturday, July 16 at noon at Mercy Medical Center's Lundy Pavilion. You'll learn the signs of depression, ways of coping, resources available and more.
For every attendee, Mercy will donate $1 to combat depression in our community. Light refreshments will be served. To register for the free seminar, visit www.mercycare.org/events and click on Men's Health, or call (319) 221-8674.
You are also invited also to bike with Mark Meier and the Hawkeye Bicycle Association on a 40-mile ride to Palo, ending at Mercy Medical Center. Bicyclists should meet at Green Square Park in Cedar Rapids at 7 a.m. and please wear a helmet. Pre-registration is not needed for the free bike ride
